Quote

Quote from Chuck Palahniuk.
Definitely a favourite.

'Experience is simply the name we give to our mistakes'

So trying to keep with the same sort of thing I did for my last quote.
This quote is from Oscar Wilde and when I googled a picture of him I was pretty drawn to his hair..

It's not even that special but I liked it so I tried to do my text in the shape of his hair then have ... more hair in the background.
It didn't work as well as I thought and I had to add colour for it to be easy to read.

Text test

Playing around with text, I like the idead of having a background image them but I don't think I'll be able to think of a relevant image for all my quotes..

Can't wait for the day that people start getting in trouble for this shit
If it ever happens

4am drawings

I have royally messed up my sleep pattern and at the moment I find
myself up til about 5am and not being able to wake up until atleast 12pm
So at about 3.30 this morning I decided I should be productive and draw
a couple of my top 5 dogs.
Yeah, more dogs..and what?

HELLO TO MY NEW FOLLOWERS

I were desperate to hit 130 - uneven numbers make me uncomfortable.
So thanks so much for taking the time to look at my little blog :)

Gaga

I am a bit dreadful

at remembering to feature people I buy from!

I bought a friend some cross stitched earrings from MaMagasin quite a few months ago now.
Couldn't feature them at the time because my friend would have seen it.
But yes, they are lovely and so is her other stuff so go have a look at her shop!

FMP

Starting my final major project.
For this project we have to have projects within the main one.
So I've decided to do my 'top five' lists.
Basically going to create as many pieces based on different favourite things: songs, films, dogs, people, buildings etc etc
Would love to end up with loads of A3 screen printed posters or something.

Only have a couple of drawings so far..

Excuse their mess, I don't have photoshop on my laptopp

P.S.

This is my favourite part of the series.
I like how immediately you can recognise who the images are supposed to be of - or most people would anyway.
Like the idea of sort of representing certain people rather than drawing them (if that makes sense) hence why my drawings have no faces though it doesn't work when they're not as well known.

I am so tired..

To Do This Year..

  • Book a holiday for the summer
  • Try and draw every day
  • Sell everything in the Ebay box under my desk
  • Take a photo in the Rough Trade photobooth (..not on my own)
  • Get a drawing published in something
  • Take more photos
  • Network
  • Go to more exhibitions

I hadn't made any resolutions yet, it's a bit late but it makes me feel better to do one..

JC

This is supposed to be Jarvis Cocker.
It looks more like him than my last attempt but still not the spit.
I think this year I will write down lots of different people/objects and put them in a hat and then when I feel like drawing something I will pick one..

T-Shirt for Secret Store.

My design is all printed and (nearly) ready to go over at Secret Store.
I even braved the cold with them to take some photos.
More pictures and information at The Secret Store Blog.
It's all very exciting.

Sorry blog

I have been neglecting you.
I have a humongous drawing block.
Well and truly can't think of ANYTHING I want to draw.

This is my final final zine.
All nice and neatly sewn together.
Pretty pleased with how the printed map at the back turned out.
